Zambia - April 2009

I'll keep this narrative short, as I only spent four days in Zambia. I must say that I was very impressed with South Luangwa National Park. In three full days of game driving I saw lions every day, a beautiful Leopard on a fresh impala kill, a huge herd of Cape Buffalo, lots of friendly Elephants, my first Puku antelope, and a slew of great birds! The vegetation along the roads made it perfect for bird photography as many of the best birds (Kingfishers and Bee-eaters) would sit at eye level and wait for their portraits to be taken. While in Zambia, I stayed at the Mfuwe lodge within the South Luangwa National Park. The management and staff at the lodge were terrific and I would definitely consider coming back here by myself or bringing a group in the future.
