Yosemite Workshop 5/05 As you can see from the photos, it was a beautiful photography weekend in Yosemite National Park. Because of some flooding earlier in the week, several of the Valley’s meadows had wonderful, reflective pools which we used to produce some stunning landscape scenics. All the majestic subjects of Yosemite’s glacier cut valley were in top form this weekend: El Capitan, Half Dome, Bridalvail Fall, Yosemite Fall, Vernal Fall, and the Merced River. The Valley showed the effects of a heavy snow melt with gushing waterfalls (named and unnamed); high, fast flowing creeks and rivers, and lush, green vegetation dotted with flowering Dogwoods!
Yes... it was a great weekend. Our enthusiastic group learned about the importance of careful composition, split neutral density filters, polarizing filters, depth-of-field, effects of slow shutter speeds, and how a good tripod and head can really make your life less frustrating!
