Costa Rica - December 2005 and January 2006 This recent trip to Costa Rica was long and productive. I spent a total of seven weeks conducting two photo workshops (plus extensions) as well as working on images for my upcoming coffee table book on the Osa peninsula: "The Osa... Jewel of Costa Rica". I spent several weeks in the Northern Osa in and around Drake's Bay to get some coverage for the book. Since this area is a premier dive location, my goal was to get underwater and photograph some of that world. Cano Island is located several miles off the coast of Drake's Bay and was the main site for my underwater work. The conditions for underwater photography weren’t perfect, but thanks to the help of Vincent, my dive master, as well as the generosity of Bruce (the owner of the Aguilar Hotel), I was able to get several underwater images for the book.
Both my photo workshops and extensions went great. Thanks to Kim and Phil and the entire Bosque del Cabo staff for taking such good care of us! It's really a home away from home for me. Thanks also to both by guest photographers Lewis Kemper and Steve Freno for adding their knowledge and personalities to the workshops... we are all richer for it. Due to a busy 2007, I will be offering only one Costa Rica workshop this year in Dec. So sign-up early if you are interested!
